Our Vision is:
To be a Holy Spirit empowered Church, proclaiming the gospel of JESUS CHRIST, dedicated to spiritually developing one another and impacting on our community and beyond, to the Glory of God.
Church’s History
Kingsmead Christian Fellowship was founded in November, 1997 by a group of Christians when their local church, Rosebank Union (R.U.C), moved its premises out of the area.
The founding group had a common purpose of maintaining a Christian presence in Rosebank, proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ in the community and dedicating themselves to spiritually developing one another and supporting missions in Africa and overseas. Initially the newly planted church was under the leadership of R.U.C. and was known as Rosebank Union Fellowship until it became autonomous on 5 March, 2001 and was re-named Kingsmead Christian Fellowship. Since its autonomy, Kingsmead Christian Fellowship has been led by an elected church council which is headed by an elder or a pastor.
Since its inception, this church has met every Sunday for fellowship and worship services in St. Brigid’s Chapel, Kingsmead College, Tottenham Avenue, Melrose. The Headmistress of Kingsmead College welcomed the use of the school’s chapel for Christian worship services and graciously continues to offer the school’s chapel for our use and the school’s swimming pool for baptisms, the school’s tea pavilion and the Joel and Lange Halls for various events.
St. Brigid’s Chapel has a cornerstone engraved, “To the glory of God”! We welcome all Christians who meet to bring glory to God, in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and in the power of the Holy Spirit!
Kingsmead Christian Fellowship is associated with the Baptist Northern Association
